Airport located near the city of Madrid, to the northeast. This is the first Spanish airport by passengers, cargo and operations, the fourth largest in Europe and the eleventh in the world. In recent years, Madrid Airport takes on average 50 million passengers annually, with a slight decrease in 2009 with 47 million and including a steady increase in international flights.

Despite the relative distance to the centre of Madrid, the airport has good communication thanks to its efficient subway and its line of private buses and taxis.
